Belmonte de Miranda is a council in Asturias , at north it borders on Salas, at east on Grado, at west on Tineo and at south on Somiedo. The capital town of the Council is Belmonte. Belmonte is 200 kilometres above sea level. The council is 56 kilometres from Oviedo, capital town of Asturias. The council is an important enviromental area. The National Park of Somiedo is in the south west . The borders of the park now are expanded towards Belmonte on account of the beauty of the landscape and the diversity of trees such as oaks, beeches, chestnuts.... |
| From the the south to north, the council is fown by Piguena river . You can practice fishing in this river mainly trouts. Piguena river is tributary of Narce river, the most important one to catch salmon. The south west part of the council belongs to National Park of Somiedo. In this park we can find and enjoy the typical forest of oaks and chestnut. In upper part we also find ferns. This is the house of roe deer, wolves, foxes, and some brown bears. The salmon, king of the river is finding one of his last redoubts in the clear waters of Narcea river. The beauty of this river and the abundance of salmons (the most prodigal inSouthern Europe) made it to the Paradise of many devotees to fishing. In Piguena river the main fish is trout. |
